Nobuyuki Nishi

Nobuyuki Nishi (Japanese西 伸 幸, Nobuyuki Nishi, born July 13, 1985 in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture) is a Japanese freestyle skis. He specializes in the moguls and dual moguls mogul disciplines.

Biography

Nishi won the gold medal moguls at the Junior World Championship in 2003. He made his World Cup debut on 6 December 2003 in Ruka, where he was in the Eleventh Moguls Competition. In his debut season, this was by far his best result, in the following winter he did not have a 18 square. In the winter of 2005/ 06 he played only the last two World Cup competitions of the season. On 2 February 2007, he was in Voss second in the moguls competition; it remained so to this day his only podium finish in the World Cup.

In the World Cup season 2007/08 Nishi binned twice in the top ten in the World Cup season 2008/ 09 once. At the 2009 World Championships in Inawashiro he won in dual moguls competition rather surprising the Silver Medal, where he was defeated by the Canadian Alexandre Bilodeau in the final round. With two more top-10 results in the World Cup itself Nishi qualified for the 2010 Winter Olympics, where he finished ninth in the moguls competition.

Nishi binned in the World Cup season 2010/11 so far even in the top ten. At the 2011 World Championships in Deer Valley, he surprised again by winning the dual moguls bronze medal.
