Noen Maprang District

Amphoe Noen Maprang ( Thai อำเภอ เนินมะปราง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the south of the province of Phitsanulok. The Phitsanulok province is located in the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

Amphoe Noen Maprang located in the south of the province of Phitsanulok within the basin of Maenam Nan ( Nan River ) that flow to the Chaophraya. The source of Maenam Chompoo ( Chompoo River ) is located in the county. The Khlong Ban Mung ( คลอง บ้าน มุง ) and the Khlong Sai Yoi ( คลอง ไทร ย้อย ) are also reflected by Noen Maprang.

Neighboring counties are seen from the north clockwise from Amphoe Wang Thong Province Phitsanulok, Amphoe Khao Kho which, Mueang Phetchabun and Wang Pong in Phetchabun province and Amphoe Thap Khlo, Wang Sai Phun and Sak Lek in the province of Phichit.

History

Amphoe Noen Maprang was formed on September 1, 1976 initially as a small district ( King Amphoe ) in order to get the in the 1970s in northern Thailand caused by the communist rebels problems in the region a better grip. Originally Noen Maprang was part of Amphoe Wang Thong. Noen Maprang got the full Amphoe status on 1 April 1983.

Management

Amphoe Noen Maprang consists of seven sub-districts ( tambon), which further into 75 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

Noen Maprang is also the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district. It consists of parts of the Tambon Noen Maprang.

In addition, there are seven " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
