Novovoronezh

Novovoronesh (Russian Нововоронеж for "New Voronezh ") is a Russian city with 32 635 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ), 55 kilometers south of Voronezh Oblast in the same name. It lies on the left bank of the Don. South of the Novovoronesh Liski good 40 km away is the nearest city.

History

Novovoronesh was founded in 1957 with the first shantytowns in connection with the construction of the nuclear power plant Novovoronesh, which was taken in 1964 in operation and thus is one of Russia's oldest nuclear power plants. 1987 Novovoronesh received the status of a city. Meanwhile, the second nuclear power plant will be built with two blocks of the nuclear power plant Novovoronesh II.
