Nun (letter)

Now ( נון ) is the fourteenth letter in the Hebrew alphabet. The name of the letter has the same meaning " fish " and the numerical value of 50 there is the letter at the end of a word, it is written differently than the final letter. This notation is sometimes used for the numerical value of 700. In the ( related ) Aramaic language the word now has the meaning of " Snake ", dating back to the Phoenician corresponding symbol in the hieroglyphic script.

History

The Hebrew now has the same historical background as the Phoenician Well, out of which went the Greek Ny, the latin north and the Arabian Now.
