Oberwart District

The political district Oberwart (ung: Felsőőri Jaras ) is located south of the Austrian province of Burgenland.

District Subdivision of the district is the city Oberwart Oberwart. Of the local Protestant and Catholic residential areas alternate. In addition to the German-speaking population here also live Burgenland Hungary and Burgenland - Croats and Roma.

Before the accession of Burgenland to Austria ( 1921), the district was part of the Hungarian county Vas.
