Octahedron is the title of the fifth studio album by American progressive rock band The Mars Volta. The album was released worldwide on 22 June 2009, in the U.S., however, a day later.
Formation
Octahedron was written by Omar Rodriguez -Lopez (music, arrangement, production) and Cedric Bixler-Zavala ( lyrics and vocals ) and performed by The Mars Volta Group. In Europe, the first single " Cotopaxi ", to be in the U.S. "Since We've Been Wrong". The Mars Volta Octahedron announced as their acoustic, quiet album. Singer Cedric Bixler - Zavala: "We know how narrow minded people can be to think in their own way, so if you can hear the new album, it will be said that this is not acoustic album [ ... ], but this is our version of what we call an acoustic album. "
