Oliver Koenig

Oliver Koenig ( born January 31, 1981 in Leipzig ) is a German track and field athlete. He was initially active in the sprint and long jump, until he focused on the long jump.

Life

Koenig was 1998 German youth champion in the long jump. He was German University Champion in 2001 and took part in the Universiade in Beijing. In the same year he won the German Junior Championship in the 100 meters and was nominated for the U23 European Championships in Amsterdam. He was German junior champion double in the 100 and 200 meters in 2002.

In the adult area, Koenig was nominated for the 200 - meter race at the IAAF World Cup in Madrid in 2002, where he scored eight place. In the long jump he was. At the German Championships 2002 Third and Second 2005 In the U.S. students Championships in Sacramento in 2005, he jumped for the first time eight meters wide and achieved second place.
