Olle Bexell

Karl Olof " Olle " Bexell ( born June 14, 1909 in Lulea, † January 6, 2003 in Uppsala ) was a Swedish athlete. At a height of 1.90 m his competition weight was 84 kg.

Olle Bexell played a total of twelve ten fights, of which he won nine. He was Swedish champion in the years 1935 up to and including 1938. 1938 he won also the title in the pentathlon.

At the Olympic Games in Berlin in 1936 Bexell reached 7024 points, which corresponds to 6558 points after the day's special. With this performance, he was seventh.

1937 Bexell was with his personal best of 7337 points ( 6781 points, according to current rating ) World Best Years.

His last decathlon denied Bexell 1938 at the European Championships in Paris. With 7214 points (equivalent to 6870 points ), he won the title before the Poland Witold Gierutto and the Swiss Josef Neumann.

After his athletic career, he was a doctor, since 1949, he worked as a practical pediatrician in Uppsala, Sweden.
