Omar Al-Ghamdi

ʿ Umar al -Ghamdi (Arabic: عمر الغامدي, DMG ʿ Umar al - Gamdi, according to the English transliteration Omar Al -Ghamdi; born April 11, 1979 in Mecca ) is a Saudi Arabian football player.

Although al -Ghamdi comes from the youth of the top clubs Al -Ittihad, he moved at age 21 to the capital club Al -Hilal. The greatest international success to Vereinsenbene was winning the Asian Cup Winners' Cup for him in 2002. There are also two national championships and three cup wins.

Since 2000, the versatile defensive midfielder is also in the national team of Saudi Arabia. There, Omar al -Ghamdi is used regularly and also belonged to the World Cup squad of Saudi Arabia for the Football World Cup 2006 in Germany. It was his second World Cup, after he came in all three games in his country for use in 2002.
