Ombúes de Lavalle is a city in southwestern Uruguay.
Geography
The city lies at an altitude of 119 meters above sea level, in the area of Colonia Department in its sector 11 It is located in, about halfway between the western city of Nueva Palmira and located in the eastern city of Florencio Sánchez. In a southeasterly direction Miguelete is located. A few kilometers north of Ombúes de Lavalle is the boundary to the Department of Soriano. To the south is the capital of the department of Colonia del Sacramento.
History
The city's name is due to the Argentine General Juan Lavalle.

Ombúes de Lavalle has the Liceo de founded in 1951 Ombúes de Lavalle via a secondary school ( Liceo ).
Population
The town has 3,390 inhabitants (as of 2011), of which 1,677 male and 1,713 female residents
