Oni Wytars

The ensemble Oni Wytars was founded in 1983 by Marco Ambrosini and Peter Rabanser to seek new ways in the interpretation of early music. It was the musicians about building a bridge between East and West and to create a synthesis of the various elements and traditions that for centuries influence and enrich the music culture in East and West.

The Music

In concerts at international music festivals as well as with their CD productions originating from various cultures instrumentalists and singers present in addition to music from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance and traditional music from Eastern Europe and the Arab world. The focus of the ensemble is mainly in the study of the connections and mutual influences between art and popular music of both the Christian and the Islamic Mediterranean countries in the 12th to 16th century. The ensemble is trying an unusual way of interpreting the past, music. Virtuoso playing style associated with unusual arrangements can thereby create a completely new sound.
