Open Wonderland

Open Wonderland ( originally Project Wonderland ) is a 100 % Java open source toolkit to create three-dimensional, collaborative virtual worlds. It features like high fidelity audio, text chat, exchange of documents, but also the common use of desktop applications are supported. Open Wonderland is completely extensible, allowing developers and graphic designers easily create new worlds, or add features to existing worlds.

Open Wonderland emerged from the project Project Wonderland supported by Sun Microsystems. On January 27, 2010 Sun Microsystems was acquired by Oracle and completed the financing of the Project Wonderland. Project Wonderland has since been continued under the title Open Wonderland as an independent, open-source project with a lively community.
