Operation Texas

Operation Texas was one from 1938 by former U.S. Congressman and later U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson and other measure implemented, which allowed Jewish refugees from Europe to enter Cuba, South America and Mexico with valid papers to Texas.

Among the entering the country as part of Operation Texas was also the Austrian conductor Erich Leinsdorf (1912 - 1993).
