Life

Orlando Quevedo joined the community of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate and received on 5 June 1964, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 23 July 1980, on the prelates of the Territorialprälatur Kidapawan. He received his episcopal consecration by the Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, Archbishop Bruno Torpigliani, on 28 October of the same year. Co-consecrators were the Archbishop of Cotabato, Philip Francis Smith, and the Prelate of Ipil, Federico O. Escaler SJ.

With the elevation of the diocese of Kidapawan Territorialprälatur 15 November 1982, Quevedo became its first bishop. On March 22, 1986, Pope John Paul II appointed Archbishop of Nueva Segovia. On 30 May 1998, the appointment would come as Archbishop of Cotabato.

In solemn consistory of February 22, 2014 Pope Francis took him a cardinal priest with the titular church of Santa Maria Regina Mundi a Torre Spaccata to the College of Cardinals.
