History

The IK Östersund was founded in 1965. The team took from the 1975/76 season regularly in the then Division 1 second-rate. From the turn of the millennium the team first played in the now third-rate Division 1 In the summer of 2003, the men's team from the main club was relocated and played in the next three years as Jämtland HF in the Division 1 From 2006 to 2011 joined the team as a gaming community with the Brunflo also under the name of Östersund / Brunflo IF in Division 1 IK. Subsequently, the license for the participation went on to Division 1 at the Östersund IK. Since the 2012/13 season playing Brunflo IK and IK Östersund again both with independent teams in the Division 1
