Ostroměř

Ostroměř ( German: Wostroměr also: Wostromiersch ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers west of Hořice and belongs to Okres Jičín.

History

Due ärchäologischer finds is believed that the area was inhabited by Ostroměř in prehistoric times. Between the 6th and the 10th century a fortified settlement of Charvaten was near Ostroměř.

1382 Ostroměř was in possession of Ješek Kdulinec of Ostroměř, whose descendants sold it at the end of the 15th century Zdislav Dobřenský of Dobřenice. From this it acquired in 1529 by Johann Sendražský Sendražice that a little later the Hermann left it by Rokytnik. From whose descendants acquired Wenzel Ostromířský of Rokytnik on Bitowan, which was expropriated from 1618 because of its involvement in the uprising after the Battle of White Mountain. The possessions acquired Albrecht von Wallenstein, who shared the little rule. One part he divided his reign a Horitz, the other the Good Holowous. The Hořitzer part acquired in 1665 Heinrich Ernst de Carmes and also divided it into the Good Holowous. 1680 sold his son Ferdinand de Carmes the entire dominion of the Walditzer Carthusians. After the order was dissolved by the Josephine reforms, religion Fund took over the Order possession. 1827 acquired Ostroměř Ferdinand of Trautmannsdorff, who united it with the rule Kumburg.

1869 Ostroměř received railway connection to the route of Chlumec after Stara Paka. With the opening of the branch line from the Austrian NordWestBahn of Horitz to Jičín it received in 1871 a further connection.
