Palawan bearded pig

The Palawan bearded pig (Sus ahoenobarbus ) is a living mammal species in Southeast Asia from the family of the Real pigs ( Suidae ). It was formerly considered a subspecies of the Bartsch wine.

Palawan bearded wines are endemic to the Philippines, they live on the island of Palawan and the Balabac upstream and Calamian Islands. They look similar to Bartsch wines, but are much smaller. Like these, they have whitish- yellow hairs on her trunk to which they owe their name and a gray-brown, bristle- like fur. About the way of life little is known.

Because of hunting and habitat destruction, the type of the IUCN as threatened ( vulnerable ).
