The palace was built in the 18th century in Baroque style, the interior is decorated in the rococo style. The back was renewed in 1913 by Ernesto Basile. The staircase has an unconventional structure: Two separate staircases each leading to a square shaft to the upper floor.

Upstairs there are a number of magnificent halls. The ballroom has a stucco ceiling and frescoes by Elia Interguglielmi. The ceiling of the hall of mirrors is decorated with frescos by Gaspare Serenario. The rooms on the upper floor served Luchino Visconti as a backdrop for the ball scene in his film 'The Leopard.
