Palomar Planet-Crossing Asteroid Survey

The Palomar Planet Crossing Asteroid Survey ( PCAS ) was launched in 1973 by Eleanor F. Helin and Eugene M. Shoemaker to life. The result of the program is the discovery of several thousand asteroids of all types, including a variety of Earth's orbit crossing asteroids and comets 20. PCAS ran for nearly 25 years and was completed in June 1995. It is the immediate precursor of the operated by JPL and NASA Near Earth Asteroid Tracking ( NEAT) project.
