Parrots, palm trees & Co. is a zoo docu-soap of the WDR.

In the series Tales from the Loro Parque in Tenerife are told. The series was filmed in the period January-July 2010. The first broadcast of 40 episodes began on 7 September 2010 in the afternoon program of the ARD. Parrots, palm trees & Co. is the first zoo docu-soap ARD which was broadcast in High Definition format.

In the episodes of the series, many different species of parrots are presented. But it is also about other animal species, such as the king penguin -Dame Agatha (and their "chosen " keepers ), the King Tiger Saba and Prince, the Galapagos giant tortoises Tom and Tomasa and a group of male gorilla reported. In this case, inter alia, then the curator and later director Dr. Matthias Rein Schmidt, a biologist Rafael Zamora, the vets Heiner Müller, Dr. Sara Capelli and Dr. Kirstin upper houses and the animal trainer and graduate biologist Claudia Vollhardt accompanied in their daily work.
