Paris-Marathon

The Paris Marathon (French Marathon de Paris ) is a marathon, which ( with the exception of 1991) will be held in Paris since 1976 annually in April. He is named after the London and the Berlin Marathon is the third largest in Europe and is organized by the Amaury Sport Organisation.

The route begins on the Avenue des Champs- Élysées and initially via the Place de la Concorde in the east. After six kilometers Place de la Bastille is crossed, and on it goes through the Place de la Nation périphérique Boulevard, which is crossed on the Avenue Daumesnil. After eleven kilometers of the Bois de Vincennes is achieved by running the next ten kilometers before it goes through the Porte de Charenton back into the city center. At km 25 the course turns south to the Seine, on the one downstream of passes on the right bank of the Île de la Cité, the Tuileries, the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadero, until at 33 km to the west in the direction of the Bois de Boulogne turns. In this park the rest of the route runs until at km 42 you get to the Avenue Foch, on which the target with the Arc de Triomphe in the background.
