Background

Position in calendars

Alan Gardiner as well as Richard Anthony Parker suggest that Pa -en- Khonsu changed shape over the years the calendar history.

From the predynastic period until the end of the Middle Kingdom represented Pa -en- Khonsu Khonsu as originally the tenth month of the Sothis calendar and shifted from the 19th dynasty in the New Kingdom on the first month of the season Schemu.

Beginning of the flat- harvest

The lunar calendar month Pa -en- Khonsu is occupied from the records of the 12th dynasty as month Khonsu for the incipient flat- harvest several times and recognized in the administrative calendar with the first work of the Ausklaubens for the then fourth Achetmonat ( February / early March).
