Pasi Häkkinen

Pasi Häkkinen ( born June 25, 1977 in Lappeenranta ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since July 2012 at the Star Bulls Rosenheim from the 2nd hockey league under contract.

Career

Häkkinen started his career in his hometown in the juniors of Saimaan Pallo. During the 1996/97 season he made his debut for the men's team of the club in the Finnish SM- liiga. In the following season, he served as a backup Jussi Markkanen and got a total of three stakes. In the following three years he remained second goalkeeper behind Niklas Bäckström Markkananen or before he decided in 2001 to a switch to the Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey Super League. Even with the Panthers, he was reserve goalkeeper behind Danny Lorenz 2002 and returned back to Finland.

In the season 2002/ 03 he played for Hokki Kajaani in the second division of Finland, Mestis, as goalkeeper and demonstrated very good performance. Therefore he was obliged in summer 2003 by Jokerit Helsinki of the SM- liiga, and sat there in the course of the season in the battle for the goalkeeper items compared Markus Helanen and Kevin Hodson through. In the play-offs, he reached the quarter-finals with Jokerit and was statistically the fifth best goalkeeper in the play-offs. After the season, the management of Jokerit with Tim Thomas undertook a new goalkeeper, so that Häkkinen was again the role as back-up. Therefore, he graduated from parallel some games for Salamat in the Mestis. In the play-offs he sat in all the games on the Jokerit Bank and won as a substitute goalkeeper with his team, the Finnish runner-up behind Kärpät Oulu.

Following this success, Häkkinen again decided for a move abroad and signed a contract with the Herning Blue Fox from the oddset Ligaen. With the Blue Fox, he reached the third place in the Danish Championship and got to the season end a contract offer from Rauman Lukko, which he accepted. After three operations he left in October 2006 Lukko and was taken from Ilves under contract, as Ilves due to a violation of Riku Helenius with Tuukka Rask had only one keeper available. In Ilves Häkkinen to 2008 under contract, and completed it 38 games in the SM- liiga. He pointed in particular in the 2007/ 08 season relatively good statistics, but did not enter the play-offs for use, but was substitute goalkeeper behind Tero Leinonen.

In summer 2008, Häkkinen left again Finland and found in HC Bolzano from the Serie A1 a new employer. In Italy he belonged in the next two years to the best goalkeepers in the league and showed especially in the playoffs both seasons very good performance so that it was with Bolzano Italian Champion 2009. In August 2010 he received a sample contract at the Dresden Eislöwen from the 2nd Hockey League, which was extended in early September until the end of the season. In June 2011, Häkkinen left despite contract offered by Eislöwen the club and moved to HK Gomel in the Belarusian Extraliga. A year later he moved in July to the Star Bulls Rosenheim, to assume the position of standard Maracle.
