Pass Out is a song by British rapper Tinie Tempah, together with the grime and R & B musician Labrinth, who is not mentioned by name. The song was written by Labrinth and Tinie Tempah and produced by Tempah and Da Diggler. It is the first single with exposure to Labrinth. It was first published on February 26, 2010 on iTunes at the label Parlophone. On 16 November 2010, a remix with Snoop Dogg was released, however, this only in the U.S.. The song was awarded the Ivor Novello Awards 2011 for Best Contemporary Song. Similarly, the song at the Brit Awards could get 2011 Brit Award for Best Single.

Background

It was said that after Tinie Tempah Labrinth with two songs, Pass Out and Frisky, produced, and was allowed to write the first single Pass Out would be. Miles Leonard, who announced this, said: "It set new precedents for British urban music from what had been happening the year before. And it was a new sound; it sounded fresh, and like it came from the clubs. " However, Parlophone thought that the song would be too risky to play it. Ultimately, the song was, however, but released first.

The titles covered include also Prince Charles and Jean -Claude Van Damme and actor from The Hills. The song on BBC Radio 1Xtra from Tim Westwood and Ras Kwame was first played on BBC Radio 1 the song was played, among others, by Zane Lowe on 7 December 2009. Chiddy Bang also released a version of the song.

Compared with MTV News Tempah said: " We tried out so many different things by going in the studio and having fun. It was not like we just put a drum & bass ending on it and then thought, done! We tried out so many things, guitars, reggae bass; we were having so much fun. "and described his experiences on in the studio.

On October 23, published in 2011 his single Labrinth Earthquake, which he described as his version of Pass Out.

Music Video

The official music video was first published on 23 December 2009 on YouTube. It takes three minutes and 57 seconds. So far it got on YouTube over 41 million clicks. In video you can see Labrinth and Tempah in a dark room standing and singing. Later in the video smashes Tempah six white rods, whereupon intervene more British rappers like G frsh into the video.

Reception

Chart success

The single was very successful, was in Scotland, reached the UK and the UK R & B Charts Patz one of the charts. In the UK, the single was also able to spend a total of 84 weeks in the Top 75. The Top 10 was the single also in the German Black Charts sixth place, the Irish charts, also finishing sixth, and the Euro Chart Hot 100 Singles with seventh place. In addition, one could reach # 33 in New Zealand.

Reviews

The song received generally positive reviews. Nick Levine of Digital Spy said to the song:

And awarded four out of five stars.
