Passavant-la-Rochère

Passavant- la- Rochere is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Passavant- la- Rochere located at an altitude of 260 m above sea level, 19 km north-east of Jussey and about 40 km north- northwest of the city of Vesoul (air line). The village is located in the extreme north of the department, just above the confluence of the Eau Morte and Ruisseau de la Noue le Châtelain on the southwestern edge of the heights of Mount Paron.

The area of ​​29.89 km ² municipal area comprises a section in the rolling countryside of the east of the upper Saônetals. From northeast to southwest, the area is crossed by the Talniederung the Eau Morte, which provides for the drainage on the Coney Saône. North of Passavant it is dammed to Etang Neuf. History

Through the area led a Roman Road, which points to a very early settlement. Is first mentioned Passavant in 1179.
