Pat Eddery

Patrick " Pat" James John Eddery ( born March 18, 1952, in Newbridge, County Kildare, Ireland ) is a former Irish jockey who won numerous internationally known horse racing 1974-1976.

Life

Eddery, son of jockey Jimmy Eddery and brother of jockey Paul Eddery, began his career as a jockey in 1967 and played in particular 1974-1996 numerous internationally known horse racing, where he also after that temporarily took part in the race.

Among his greatest victories included the profit of the Epsom Derby in 1975, 1982 and 1990, winning three times in this period, the Epsom Oaks in 1974, 1979 and 1996. Moreover Eddery won in 1986, 1991, 1994 and 1997 also the St. Leger Stakes.

One of the greatest successes outside the UK were among his victories in the Prix de l' Arc de Triomphe, which he won in 1980 and three times in a row in 1985, 1986 and 1987. 1988 and 1990 he won in France in addition also the Prix du Jockey Club.
