Pat Elynuik

Patrick Gerald Elynuik ( born October 30, 1967 in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who played Senators in the National Hockey League during his career for the Winnipeg Jets, Washington Capitals, Tampa Bay Lightning and Ottawa.

Career

Pat Elynuik began his career as a hockey player with the Prince Albert Raiders, for which he was active from 1982 to 1987 in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League. With his team he was initially able to win the President's Cup in the 1984/85 season. As a master of the WHL he took the Raiders Memorial Cup, the final tournament for the championship of the Canadian Hockey League, and won also this item. In the NHL Entry Draft in 1986 the winger was selected in the first round as a whole eighth player from the Winnipeg Jets. For the team from Manitoba, he played in the next five years in the National Hockey League, where he came in his first two seasons in Winnipeg franchise and for their farm team, the Moncton Hawks of the American Hockey League, are used.

On 1 October 1992 Elynuik was issued in exchange for John Druce and a fourth- round option for the NHL Entry Draft to the Washington Capitals. There he stood as a year under contract, as then for their league rivals Tampa Bay Lightning. From 1994 to 1996, the Canadians went on in the NHL for the Ottawa Senators. He also resigned from 1995 to his retirement in late 1997 for the Fort Wayne Komets and the Michigan K- Wings of the International Hockey League game.

Internationally

For Canada Elynuik took part in the World Youth Championship in 1987, when he was disqualified with his team due to a mass brawl in the game against Russia.
