Pat McCrory

Patrick Lloyd " Pat" McCrory ( born October 17, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio) is an American politician. He's since January 5, 2013 Governor of the State of North Carolina.

Life

Childhood and youth

Pat McCrory was born as the youngest of four children of Rollin and Audrey McCrory in Columbus, Ohio. His father was an engineer by profession, who had been even in the council of Worthington, a suburb of Columbus.

McCrory grew up to the age of nine in Ohio before his family in 1965 came to North Carolina, where he was in Jamestown, a suburb of Greensboro, growing up and the schools, including the Jamestown Junior High visited, in 1972 he, as President of the student Council was elected.

Career

After his graduation in 1974, he enrolled at Catawba College in Salisbury one where he studied the teaching profession. Although he in 1978 received the approval to be able to teach as a teacher, but took a job at the utility company Duke Energy. Political career

1989 McCrory went into politics when he was elected for the Republican Party in the City Council of Charlotte. In 1993, the election of the Deputy Mayor.

1995 McCrory ran successfully for the office of mayor of Charlotte. Although at this time already 39 years old, McCrory was the hitherto youngest mayor of Charlotte when he took office. McCrory was a very popular mayor, who always managed to keep his Democratic challenger clearly at a distance in his six elections, what the election result was concerned. In 2009 he gave his farewell after 14 years as mayor of Charlotte. Also he left after about three decades, Duke Energy, and began to work in the company of his brother as a business consultant.

2012 McCrory ran again for the office of Governor of North Carolina. He was able to beat his Democratic challenger, Walter H. Dalton with 54.7 percentage points from 43.2 percentage points. McCrory, who took office in early January, 2013, has been 20 years since James G. Martin, who retired from office in 1993, the first Republican governor of North Carolina.

Private life

Pat McCrory is indeed married since 1988, and his wife Ann, however, no children.
