Patrick O'Donnell (politician)

Patrick O'Donnell (* unknown; † October 4, 1970 ) was an Irish politician of the Fine Gael.

Biography

After school he studied law and then worked as a solicitor after graduation.

On 16 November 1949 he was elected at a by-election ( By-election ) for the first time as Fine Gael MEPs ( Teachta Dala ) of the lower house ( Dáil Éireann ) and this was one until his death. First, he represented the constituency until 1961 Donegal West, then Donegal South West, and most recently from 1969 to his death in the constituency of Donegal - Leitrim.

After the election victory of Fine Gael, he was on 2 June 1954 by Taoiseach (Prime Minister ) John A. Costello appointed Minister of Local Government and belonged to the cabinet until the end of Costello's term of office on 20 March 1957.
