Paul Ernst (German writer)

Carl Friedrich Paul Ernst ( born March 7, 1866 in Elbingerode ( Harz), † May 13 1933 in St. Georgen an der Stiefing, Styria ) was a German writer and journalist. Together with Wilhelm von Scholz, he released a comedy under the pseudonym PW Fun Möller.

Life

Born as the son of mine overseer Johann Christian Friedrich Wilhelm Ernst and his wife Emma Auguste Henriette Dittmann he was baptized on 18 March 1866. He studied after completing his school education theology and philosophy at the universities of Göttingen and Tübingen. Another study of literature and history in Berlin joined them. In 1892 he received his doctorate. He became a member of the progressive writers association through Berlin.

Early on, he joined the labor movement and was a member of the Social Democratic Party, from which he resigned in 1896, however, again. In the " Berliner Volksbank Sheet" No. 232 of October 5, 1890 it featured Friedrich Engels as a superficial and sniveling opportunist.

Beginning of the 20th century, it remained to Paul Ernst in Weimar. During this period numerous dramas and stories. 1905/1906 he worked as a dramaturge at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus. Later he devoted himself entirely to his freelance career as a writer. He died in 1933 in Austria.
