Paul McGann

Paul McGann ( born November 14, 1959 in Liverpool) is a British actor.

Life and career

McGann appeared in 1986 in the BBC series The Monocled Mutineer on. In the same year he played in Bruce Robinson's Withnail and I. comedy he is known by this film and as the eighth performer in the title role of the science fiction series Doctor Who. His three brothers, Joe McGann, Mark McGann and Stephen McGann is also an actor. Together with Stephen and Mark, he turned in 1995 Catherine the Great. In the early 1990s, he starred in supporting roles in The Three Musketeers and Alien 3. 1996 McGann played the eighth incarnation of the Doctor in the British television series Doctor Who. Since 2001, McGann speaks the eighth Doctor in the Doctor Who audio plays. 2013 he took over that role again in the mini- episode The Night of the Doctor, which was published to mark the 50th anniversary of the series.
