Paweł Samecki

Paweł Samecki ( born March 12, 1958 in Łódź) is a Polish economist and politician.

After studying International Economic Relations at the University of Łódź 1981 Samecki pursued an academic career just there with research stays at the London School of Economics ( 1990).

From 1991 to 2002 he took different tasks within the ministries of the Polish government. Most recently he worked in the Management Board of the National Bank of Poland. He solved Danuta Hübner from July 2009 as Commissioner for Regional Policy in the European Commission from the Member of the EU Parliament was. His successor as Commissioner in February 2010, the Austrian Johannes Hahn.

Samecki is married and has a son and a daughter.
