Bare knuckle Ling ( Paxillus involutus)

The Real brim pieces ( Paxillus ) is a fungal genus in the family brim Ling relatives. Despite their lamellar -like Hymenophors they belong to Dickröhrlingsverwandtschaft. Formerly included the genus also saprob living wood Kremp Linge ( Tapinella ).

The type species is the Bald brim Ling ( P. involutus).

Features

The Real brim pieces are medium-sized mushrooms with a central or lateral stem. The brim is curled long, the blades are easily removable from the hat and run far down on the stem, they are light brown in color and partially cross-linked. The hat brim pieces is smooth. The species occurring in Europe the genus have no velum, in species outside Europe comes in part before a velum. In the fruiting bodies prevail brown hues. The spore powder is tonbraun colored to pale rusty brown.
