Pedro Solberg Salgado

Pedro Solberg Salgado ( born March 27, 1986 in Rio de Janeiro) is a Brazilian beach volleyball player.

Career

Pedro won with three different partners 2002 U18 and 2003 and 2006, the U21 world championship in beach volleyball. In the same year he started with Roberto Lopez at several FIVB tournaments with a fourth place as best result. In the two following years, Pedro Salgado reached with his new partner Harley Marques nine tournament victories, both were elected in 2008 FIVB Tour Champion and Team of the Year.

2009 saw Salgado several times the team won with his first partner in a FIVB tournament Pedro Cunha and three silver medals won by Benjamin at the Open in Stare Jablonski. Two fourth places with Ricardo marked the end of the year.

2010

After a fifth place with Ricardo Santos at the Brasilia Open, Pedro opted for a renewed collaboration with Harley, his partner from the successful 2007 and 2008. Both won the same the next tournament in Shanghai, however, occupied at the following events only other placement in the front of the field to finish fifth in the Grand Slam in Moscow. After two ranks ninth in Stavanger and Gstaad, a seventeenth place in Klagenfurt and another fifth place in Stare Jablonki to Salgado / Marques won the silver medal in Kristiansand. They defeated among others, their compatriots Benjamin / Bruno and Emanuel / Alison and lost in the final against the Americans Rogers / Dalhausser. At the end of the season Pedro / Harley yet reached ninth places in Åland and The Hague.

2011

In the first four events of the year Salgado first played with Cunha, best result was a fourth place in Prague. With his new partner Ferramenta Pedro reached fifth place in the fifth event of the season, the World Championships in Rome. In Stavanger, the two Brazilians occupied the 25th place in Gstaad they were ninth. Then Salgado was provisionally suspended for a doping suspicion. The lifting of the suspension in mid- August due to a delay in the tests, which was not attributable to the Athlete. According to a ninth place in Beijing, the semi-finals in Prague and two other ninth places in Moscow and Rome Pedro and Márcio Araújo failed in Gstaad in the Country Quota at Pedros last term partner Ferramenta and Thiago. In Berlin Salgado and Araújo finished fifth. In Austria they reached their second final in 2012, they lost to the Dutch Nummerdor / Schuil. Family

Pedro's mother Isabel Salgado was himself a successful beach volleyball player and won in 1994 at a FIVB tournament in Miami. Pedro's siblings are called Bernardo, Pilar, Celina and Maria Clara and Carolina, the play in 2005 at the World Tour in 2008 and won their first gold medal in Mysłowice.
