Peniel Kokou Mlapa (* February 20, 1991 in Lomé ) is a German - Togolese football player.

Youth
Mlapa initially played for FC Unterföhring. In 1999 he moved at the age of eight years for TSV 1860 Munich, where he went through all the youth teams up to U-19. On 12 September 2008 he came to his first race in the Regionalliga Süd, when he came off the bench in the game of U23 Munich against FC Heidenheim. Over the 2008/09 season he was able to record two more brief appearances in the reserve team of TSV in 1860, but was still a regular in the U- 19th
TSV 1860 München
17 May 2009 Mlapa made his debut in professional football. In the second league match of 1860 against Alemannia Aachen, he came on in injury time. In the last outstanding season game at the 1st FC Nuremberg he was used. In summer 2009, he was the pre-season contest with the first team. In connection he was appointed formally in the professional squad. His first Zweitligator 1860 he scored 4 October 2009 in the game against FC St. Pauli. In the following game against MSV Duisburg Mlapa first stood on the grid and again scored a goal. By 2010 Mlapa played 23 league games for the Munich, in which he scored six goals. In addition, he played twice in the DFB Cup and scored for the second team in 13 games five goals.
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim
In summer 2010 Mlapa moved to Bundesliga side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, where he signed a contract until 2013. He scored 14 August 2010 in the DFB Cup against FC Hansa Rostock his first goal for Hoffenheim.
Borussia Mönchengladbach
For the 2012/13 season Mlapa moved to league rivals Borussia Monchengladbach. He signed a valid contract until 30 June 2016. His first game for his new club, he completed on 25 October 2012 in the Europa League group stage in the 2-0 victory against Olympique Marseille. This Mlapa met only 125 seconds after Einwechselung to 2-0 win. On March 9, 2013 ( 25th Round ) in the 1-1 draw at home against SV Werder Bremen managed to reduce the deficit to 1-0 in the intervening 72 minutes, his first Bundesliga goal for his club.
National
On 7 October 2009 Mlapa made his debut in the dress of the DFB, as it was used for the U-19 selection against Luxembourg on 90 minutes. A few weeks later he was appointed for the last remaining World Cup qualifier in the squad of the Togolese national team. He declined this invitation from, however, to be able to initially continue playing for the youth teams of the DFB. With the German U- 21 team, he qualified in October 2012 for the European Championship finals in 2013 in Israel.
Awards
In 2010 he was honored by the DFB with the golden Fritz Walter medal born in 1991.
