PESA 122N

The Type 122N, the Polish manufacturer PESA is the meter gauge version of the low-floor tram consistently railcar 120N from the same manufacturer.

History

In October 2006, the transport companies of the central Polish city of Lodz ordered from PESA ten copies of a low-floor car, which strongly resembles the built Warsaw Type 120N, but should be compatible with the narrow gauge network of Łódź. This will be developed into a suburban rail network for several years, creating additional demand for rolling stock.

On 25 January 2008, the first copy was delivered to Lodz. In the same year, the Transport Company of Bydgoszcz received two copies.

For the ( also meterspurigen ) Operation of Elbląg the three-part version was 121N.

Technology

The 122N is a five-part articulated railcar with a low-floor area of 100 percent. In this case, only the sections 1, 3 and 5 have bogies, which are driven by only the outer ( sections 1 and 5). Sections 2 and 4 are executed floating and based on the joints on the adjacent sections from. Six swing-out doors (one single door in section 1 and 5, two double doors in section 2 and 4) ensure a rapid passenger.

Like most contemporary trams also got the 122N panoramic windows with tinted windows. The design of the front section designed as a crash -absorbing element with its thermoformed front window and the " Evil Eye " headlights lends the 122N - family for rail vehicles unusually sleek appearance.

The passenger information system consists of internal speakers together for the recorder stops announcement of LED indicators front and side of the car as well as in video-controlled passenger compartment.
