Pete Trewavas

Peter ' Pete ' Trewavas ( born January 15, 1959 in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire as John Peter Trewavas ) is a British musician. He is the bassist for the progressive rock band Marillion and Transatlantic.

Biography

He spent much of his childhood in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. There, he gained his first musical experience. At a young age Trewavas had a few years clarinet lessons and played second clarinet in the school orchestra. Later he was active in several bands, especially with The Metros, with whom he recorded the album Driving Us Crazy and appeared in New York as the opening act for Duran Duran in 1982. In the same year he joined Marillion, where he took over the post of bassist Diz Minnett of which he still holds today.

In 1986 he played on the album Feedback of former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett as a guest musician. With Ian Mosley of Marillion and the French guitarist and pianist Sylvain Gouvernaire he played under the name Iris 1996 the instrumental album Crossing the Desert.
