Pete Trewavas
Peter ' Pete ' Trewavas ( born January 15, 1959 in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire as John Peter Trewavas ) is a British musician. He is the bassist for the progressive rock band Marillion and Transatlantic.

Biography
He spent much of his childhood in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. There, he gained his first musical experience. At a young age Trewavas had a few years clarinet lessons and played second clarinet in the school orchestra. Later he was active in several bands, especially with The Metros, with whom he recorded the album Driving Us Crazy and appeared in New York as the opening act for Duran Duran in 1982. In the same year he joined Marillion, where he took over the post of bassist Diz Minnett of which he still holds today.
In 1986 he played on the album Feedback of former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett as a guest musician. With Ian Mosley of Marillion and the French guitarist and pianist Sylvain Gouvernaire he played under the name Iris 1996 the instrumental album Crossing the Desert. Also as a guest musician played Trewavas 1996 on the album Carnival of Souls by The Wishing Tree, a project of his bandmate Steve Rothery Marillion. In 2000, he played for Ian Mosley & Ben Castle on the album Postmankind.
Trewavas since 2000 is also a member of the progressive rock supergroup Transatlantic, which he ( formerly of Dream Theater ) founded ( formerly of Spock 's Beard ), Roine Stolt ( The Flower Kings ) and Mike Portnoy with Neal Morse. With Transatlantic He has published three studio and three live albums. In 2004 he founded with John Mitchell (Arena ), John Beck, Bob Dalton ( It Bites both ) and Chris Maitland (ex - Porcupine Tree ) Neo -Prog band Kino. The debut album Picture was released in 2005.
Trewavas also played at ProgAID, a charity project for the victims of the tsunami in the Indian Ocean, 2004. Associated EP ProgAID - All Around The World was released in 2005 In 2007 he was a guest musician with the English progressive rock band Big Big Train on the album The Difference Machine..
For several years he played with Steve Rothery and Steve Hogarth of Marillion as Los Trios Marillos scattered acoustic concerts in small scale on which essentially Marillion songs are played.
Back in 2006, founded Trewawas with guitarist Eric Blackwood formation Edison 's Children. In November 2011, the first CD will be released with the title " In The Last Waking Moments".
Pete Trewavas is married and has two children.
Musical interaction
Although he is the bass guitarist in the first place, he also plays bass pedal, and has composed keyboard parts for Transatlantic. He also occasionally plays electric guitar and acoustic guitar with some Marillion songs ( for example, " Faith" and "Now She'll Never Know" ) and does backing vocals. In the demo version of a movie - songs on the album Cutting Room Floor as well as the Trans Atlantic 's song " Lending A Hand " on the bonus CD to The Whirlwind he can also be heard as the lead singer.
After artists interviewed who have inspired or influenced him, he calls Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Chris Squire and Mike Rutherford. Trewavas calls his bass playing less than style -oriented, rather than emotionally oriented. In an interview he said: " I really just kind of got into listening to music and stuff, trying to evolve. For me it's not about styles - it's about feel. "
