Peter Karlsson (table tennis)

Peter Karlsson (* May 29, 1969 in Stenstorp ) is a Swedish table tennis player. He is the European champion in singles, world champion in double and multiple World Team Champion.

Karlsson played the first time in 1985 in the Swedish national team. In the following years he belonged to the circle while the national team, but was often only spare behind Waldner, Appelgren, Lindh and Persson.

Participation in World Championships

Karlsson 1991 World Champion Doubles ( with Thomas von Scheele ) at the World Table Tennis Championship. With the Swedish team he won in four World Championships gold medal, namely 1989, 1991, 1993 and 2000; In 1995, he took the team silver, bronze in 2001.

Participation in European Championships

At the European Championships 2000 in Bremen Karlsson won the European title in singles. With the Swedish team, he finished 1990, 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2002 # 1

Other successes

1994 and 1995, Karlsson was Swedish champion. In 2002, he won on the ITTF Pro Tour in Courmayeur / Italy. Other important achievements are 4th place in the World Cup in 1993, 3 times 2nd place at the Europe Top 12 (1993, 1998, 2001 ) and 2nd place in the Croatia Open 2003

Clubs

Karlsson was released in 1993 by Falkenberg's BTK, with whom he reached the final of the 1992 ETTU Cup, to Spvg Steinhagen in the German Bundesliga. He also played for several French clubs, about Elan Nevers (until 2004), Cergy Pontoise AS ( 2004-2005) and Levallois SC ( 2005).

Karlsson is married and has one daughter.
