Peter van Dievoet

Peter van Dievoet (* 1661 in Brussels, † March 2, 1729 ) was a Belgian sculptor.

After an internship in London in the studio of Grinling Gibbons, he returned to Belgium, where he has created many sculptures for the reconstruction of Grand-Place/Grote market in Brussels.

He is the brother of the goldsmith Philipp van Dievoet, the goldsmith and advisor to King Louis XIV.

The last original sculptures by Peter van Dievoet in the tradition of Duquesnoy were to be found in Brussels. Many were the demolition of old buildings ( the Bruxellation ) in recent years to the victim.
