Peter W. Breene

Peter W. Breene ( born August 1846 in Kilkenny, Ireland, † December 24, 1926 in Leadville, Colorado ) was an American politician. Between 1885 and 1887 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Colorado.

Career

About the youth and education of Peter Breene nothing is handed down. He came from his Irish home first in the state of Indiana, where he was engaged in mining. In 1877 he moved to Leadville, Colorado, where he also worked in the mining industry and it was rich. He became a leading figure in the local mining industry. Politically, he joined the Republican Party. Between 1883 and 1885 he sat in the House of Representatives from Colorado.

In 1884, Breene was elected to the side of Benjamin Harrison Eaton as Vice Governor of Colorado. This post he held 1885-1887. Doing so, he was not only deputy governor but also Chairman of the State Senate. In the years 1887 and 1888 he served as State Treasurer Finance Minister of his state. After that, he is no longer politically have appeared. Peter Breene died on December 24, 1926 in Leadville.
