Petrovichi

Petrowitschi (Russian Петровичи ) is a village ( Derevnya ) in the Russian Smolensk Oblast.

Geography

The village is situated in the southern part of the oblast, about 100 km as the crow south of Smolensk and 20 km from the border with Belarus, on the Chernaya Nemka ( Black Nemka ), a source river of the right Ostjor influx Nemka.

It belongs to Rajon Schumjatschi and is the administrative center of Schumjatschi good 20 km in the north- western direction. Together with 20 other villages ( total population of 795, the 14 October 2010), it belongs to the rural community Russkowskoje selskoje posselenije whose administrative headquarters Russkoje is located about 15 km southeast of Petrowitschi.

East past the village runs a local road that connects to the regional road R53 the Rajonzentrum Schumjatschi (not far from the highway A101 ) via Russkoje with the center of the north adjacent Rajons Chislawitschi.
