Phillip Walker

Phillip Walker ( born February 11, 1937 in Welsh, Louisiana, † July 22, 2010 in Palm Springs, California ) was an American blues singer and guitarist of the West Coast blues.

Phillip Walker learned as a young guitar playing; his early models were the guitarist T-Bone Walker and Clarence Gatemouth Brown At 17 he became a member of the band of Clifton Chenier Zydecomusikers, with whom he went two years on tour. After that he played with the Memphiser R & B singer Rosco Gordon and the Texan guitarist Long John Hunter. After moving to California in 1959, he took some singles like Hello My Darling for the label Elko by JR Fulbright, and then worked with producer Bruce Bromberg and Dennis Walker songwriter; jointly developed in the 60 records of the guitarist for the Vault label, Fantasy, Joliet and Playboy. After plates for Rounder Records Walker joined Bromberg label Hightone and the New Orleanser label Black Top Records. During the 1990s, he took on the Chicago Alligator Records on, best-known work was " Lone Star Shootout" with the musicians Long John Hunter Lonnie Brooks and in 1999. His last album was released in 2007 on Delta Groove ( Going Back Home).
