Pieter Gerardus van Overstraten

Pieter Gerardus van came over (* February 19, 1755 in Bergen op Zoom, The Netherlands, † August 22 in Batavia ( now Jakarta ), formerly known as the Dutch East Indies in 1801 ) was from 1796 to 1801 Governor General of the Dutch East Indies.

He was the last Governor-General of the Dutch East India Company, which was canceled due to the bankruptcy took place in 1799. However, he could retain his office, as the Dutch government brought the territories of the East Indies under his control.
