Pietro Scalia

Pietro A. Scalia ( born March 17, 1960 in Catania, Sicily, Italy ) is an Italian cutter and two-time Oscar winner.

Career

Pietro A. Scalia grew up in Switzerland and attended a German -language school. He then studied for two years at the University at Albany, The State University of New York and could do with a scholarship his master's degree at UCLA.

Prior to his work as a freelance editor Scalia has worked, as an assistant editor at Wall Street (1987) and Born on 4 July (1989). Then he cut among other films for Ridley Scott, Bernardo Bertolucci, Oliver Stone and Rob Marshall.

For his two film sections at JFK - Tatort Dallas and Black Hawk Down he was both awarded the Oscar for best film editing.

Among many other awards Scalia was nominated today for an Academy Award four times. At the Oscars 1992 ( JFK - Tatort Dallas ) and 2002 ( Black Hawk Down ), he has already won twice this price.
