Pine Cay

Pine Cay is a small island in the chain of the Western Caicos Islands. It belongs geopolitically to the British overseas territory of the Turks and Caicos Islands and is now privately owned.

The island is part of a group of about 20 flat sandy islands lying between the west coast of North Caicos and the northeast coast of Providenciales. Pine Cay is separated only by a narrow strait from the west adjoining Water Cay; the passage is as strong today silted up in the north that the neighboring island is accessible at least at low tide on foot.

On Pine Cay operates the owner of the island, the Meridian Club, since 1970 a small, luxurious bungalow. The island has a few utilities and a 800 meter- long airstrip for light aircraft.
