Pizzo di Vogorno

The Pizzo di Vorgorno is a 2'442 m high mountain peaks north-east above the Swiss village Vogorno at the entrance of the Verzasca Valley, which dominates the north shore of Lake Maggiore.

From the top, the climbers a wide view of the Alps, but also on the lakes of the southern Ticino and the Po valley behind it. In good weather, the silhouette of the Apennines can be detected.

Routes to the summit

The way to Pizzo di Vorgorno are marked alpine trails. On the southwest side of San Antonio lead in Vogorno two paths on either side of the Valle del Molino to the summit, which at Alp Bardüghè ( here also with cable car from San Bartolomeo in Verzasca valley, accommodation ) unite. To the east of the mountain, an increase from the Capanna Borgna, an achievable by several valleys hut the Società Escursionistica Verzaschese, the highest point of the mountain. Another long climb possibility of Lavertezzo in the northwest leads through the Val Carecchio Bocchetta di Rognoi, where you will find the coming of the Capanna Borgna way.

The summit will occasionally climbed in winter with skis. Therefor you rises from Vogorno. The skis must be worn in the up- and downslope of Vogorno almost to Rienza. Alternatively, in the winter of demanding access Mornera ( cable car from Monte Carasso ) is possible.
