Playfair (lunar crater)

Playfair is an impact crater on the lunar front side, east of the Mare Nubium, north of the crater Apianus and east of La Caille. The rim is moderately eroded, the interior largely flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Scottish mathematician and geologist John Playfair.
