Pleše

Pleše ( German Plasche ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 15 km north-west of Hradec Jindřichův and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

Pleše located in South Bohemia on a hilltop above the city Kardašova Řečice. To the north is a sports airfield, including leads in the valley of the railway from Jindřichův Hradec to Veseli nad Lužnicí over, their next stop is in Záhoří.

Neighboring towns are Višňová in the northeast, and Pohoří Klenov in the east, Kardašova Řečice the southeast, Nítovice in the south, and Vřesná Drahov the southwest, Zlukov in the west and Újezdec and Záhoří in the northwest.

History

Was first documented the village Plesi in 1384. The site was created in 1200 by Czech settlers in the area of the Lords of Hradec and belonged to Řečice. At the partition of 1292 one half of the town fell to Ulrich II von Neuhaus on Chlumetz and related to him gentlemen Sezimovo Ústí.

1862, the village had 570 inhabitants, the number has been declining from the turn of the century.
