Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan ( PotashCorp ) is a company from Canada, headquartered in Saskatoon. The company is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange in the stock index S & P / TSX 60.

The company is the largest producer of potash worldwide. PotashCorp is furthermore the largest producer of fertilizers for agriculture.

Potash Corp. was founded in 1975 by the provincial government of Saskatchewan. In 1989 the company went public and was privatized. In the 1990 the company acquired several U.S. producer of potassium chloride: Potash Company of America, Florida Favorite Fertilizer, Texasgulf and Arcadian Corporation.

In August 2010, BHP Billiton was known to strive for a hostile takeover of PotashCorp at a price of about 39 billion U.S. dollars, which was not successful, however.
