Prince Paul (producer)

Prince Paul ( born April 2, 1967 in New York City, New York, civil Paul Huston ) is an American DJ and hip hop producer. He was known especially for his unorthodox sense of humor. Prince Paul was by his unusual samples and his playful humor involved in it to characterize the alternative hip- hop with.

Prince Paul began his career as a member of Stetsasonic. He produced 1989 De La Soul 's debut album Three Feet High and Rising. On this album he introduced the skit, which can be found today in almost every hip-hop albums. After two more albums with De La Soul, around then turn to their own projects. He released the solo album Psychoanalysis: What is It? and the hip-hop opera A Prince Among Thieves, in which appeared, among others, Big Daddy Kane and Everlast. Together with Frukwan ( Stetsasonic ), Too Poetic ( The Brothers Grimm ) and RZA ( Wu -Tang Clan ), he formed the Horrorcore group Gravediggaz.

Along with the jazz producer Teo Macero, he produced in 1995, the solo debut of guitarist Vernon Reid Mistaken Identity. Together with Dan the Automator he formed the Handsome Boy Modeling School, on their album Sun. How's Your Girl? occurred among others Sean Lennon and Del Tha Funkee Homosapien.

Along with Chuck D, Ice-T, the Beatnuts, Wordsworth and others, he published in 2003 Politics of the Business.
